“Doctor Sleep” is a novel by Stephen King, published in 2013. It is a sequel to King’s 1977 novel “The Shining” and follows the story of Danny Torrance, now an adult dealing with the trauma and psychic abilities he experienced as a child at the haunted Overlook Hotel. Danny, known as “Doctor Sleep” due to his work in a hospice, must protect a young girl with similar abilities from a cult that feeds on children with psychic powers. The novel explores themes of redemption, trauma, and the supernatural, continuing and expanding upon the lore established in “The Shining.”
